Cambridge lies on the north side of the Charles River and is home to some of the most prestigious schools in the United States including Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge is well known around the world.
Cambridge is commonly referred to as “The city of squares” due to the number of squares that the city has including the most popular Harvard, Inman, Central and Kendall Squares. Each is distinct in personality but all areas offer various services for their residents from shopping to dining.
Back in the 1980’s, companies in the tech industry began playing a large role in the popularity of Cambridge as corporations like Lotus planted opened up shop there and were followed years after by biotech firms including Genzyme, Biogen and Novartis. Today, the Kendall Square area is home to many additional famous tech companies including Google, Microsoft and Amazon.
