The town of Arlington is among one of the most sought after towns that lie just outside of Boston. Great public and private schools are a big draw for families as there are prime options for education. With an easy accessibility to Boston, Arlington is a dynamic community full of shopping, dining and entertainment. Many parks and ponds are found throughout offering endless recreational activities. The Minuteman Bikeway for example is perhaps one of the most popular trails that offers accessibility and recreational options. Built on a retired railroad track it passes by the area of where the historic American Revolution began in 1775. Menotomy Rocks Park is another big draw boasting plenty of green space, playground and picnic area for residents to gather and enjoy the outdoors.
Historically, Arlington was a farming town that had produced lettuce. It was also known for playing a part in the ice industry with an ice house along Spy Pond up until the 1930’s. Today, Arlington has a more urban feel in its landscape for a Greater Boston suburb, but is regarded as being a primarily residential area.
